Welcome to Living Waters Therapy, where hope flows and healing begins. I'm Charley Correll, the proud founder of this endeavor, driven by a deep commitment to increase access to mental health care for veterans and their families. I believe that, just like the Mandolorians emerging whole, anyone entering counseling with us can emerge changed for the better.

My educational journey led me to graduate from Liberty University with a master's degree in Professional Counseling, additionally I and EMDR trained equipping me with the knowledge and skills to provide compassionate and effective support. Join me at Living Waters Therapy, where every step is a journey toward newfound strength and resilience.

About Laura Strode, LPC Intern

Healing from trauma takes courage. I work with teens and adults navigating the lasting effects of trauma, domestic violence, and religious harm. Many of my clients feel overwhelmed, hypervigilant, disconnected, or unsure of who they are outside of survival mode. Therapy offers a space to process those experiences safely and begin rebuilding stability, clarity, and a stronger sense of self.

I am currently earning my graduate degree in counseling from Capella University and practice as an LPC-Intern under clinical supervision. I bring over 15 years of experience in behavioral health, including care management and skills training, which has given me extensive experience supporting individuals through complex mental health, trauma, and life stressors. My approach is trauma-informed, structured, and grounded in evidence-based care.

I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an effective treatment for reducing the emotional intensity of traumatic memories. I also integrate cognitive and relational strategies to help clients identify patterns, strengthen coping skills, and create meaningful, sustainable change.

I am especially passionate about supporting individuals healing from domestic violence and spiritual or religious trauma. Leaving harmful systems often brings complex emotions alongside relief. In our work together, your experiences will be met with belief, steadiness, and respect for your autonomy.

About Alex Harris, LPC Intern

Hi, my name is Alex Harris. I am currently pursuing my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Capella University. I will graduate in March of 2026. I am currently practicing as an LPC-Intern under clinical supervision. I focus on helping adults navigate the complexities of anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and the profound impact these challenges can have on the body. I strongly believe in using a holistic approach with evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills training, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Person-Centered Therapy, combined with somatic therapy techniques.

I am very passionate about creating a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their emotions and develop effective coping strategies. With a deep understanding of how psychological distress manifests physically, I like to focus on the connection between mind and body in the healing process. My goal is to empower clients to break free from the grips of negative thought patterns, emotional dysregulation, and trauma responses, allowing for long-lasting recovery and emotional resilience.

I am committed to creating an authentic and empathetic therapeutic alliance with clients, one where the client feels safe and comfortable enough to share any and every problem, big or small. It’s not the size of the problem but how it affects us that matters. I recognize the unique experiences and strengths each person brings to the therapeutic process. Through the use of tailored therapeutic interventions, we will work together to achieve personal growth, emotional balance, and lasting well-being.

About Mackenzie Burns, LPC Intern

Hi, I’m Mackenzie and I am a counseling intern pursuing my LPC. I am also a U.S. Navy veteran currently finishing my final semester at Old Dominion University, where I’m earning my M.S.Ed. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. My time in the military deeply shaped who I am and inspired my passion for working with service members, veterans, and their families—especially during transitional or distressing moments.

I understand the unique challenges that can come with military life, separation, identity shifts, and reintegration. My goal is to offer a space where you feel understood and supported without having to explain the culture or context behind your experiences.

I view counseling as a collaborative process of integrating all parts of yourself—your strengths, struggles, values, and lived experiences—to uncover what is most authentic to you and to help you lead from that place.

My approach is grounded in evidence-based practices, including Person-Centered Therapy (PCT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills training, and trauma-focused narrative work. At the same time, I see therapy as an art informed by science. There is no “one-size-fits-all” approach. As a collectivist, I consider the broader systems, relationships, and cultural influences that shape who you are, and I tailor our work together to meet your unique needs.

Wherever you are in your journey, I’m here to walk alongside you.
